What’s Up? Congratulations to Michael & Ruth Douglas, Ringgold, Georgia, on the birth of their baby girl, Roniya Selah. She was born on June 15, weighing 6 lbs. In March, the Douglases adopted a baby girl, Giovanna. These two precious girls will grow up as “Irish Twins.” Pictured is Michael enjoying his first Father’s Day with his two daughters.
What’s Up? Sympathy to the family of Luther Joiner (age 82), Trenton, Georgia, SWM Board Member, who passed away June 4, after a lengthy illness. He was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church and was known for hiking the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine when he was age 55. Please pray for his wife, Janie, who continues to serve on SWM’s Board.

What’s Up? Jon & Diane Barr recently shared this huge banana split and visited with old friends Ed and Ladessa Yakanin in Michigan. Many years ago Ed helped build the Barr’s bus RV. Ladessa learned sign language from the Barrs and still has a burden for the Deaf.
What’s Up? SWM’s Canadian Missionaries to the Deaf, Bud and Jenna Ring, began full-time deputation on May 3. They have had many meetings across Canada. Along the way they have spoken in many churches, taught children’s ministries, gained support, scheduled more meetings and learned much about traveling in an RV. Their hearts are burdened to reach the Deaf in Canada with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
What’s Up? SWM Home Office Missionary, Tabitha Beam’s car recently died. But through generous gifts of friends and family, she was able to purchase a newer 2010 Nissan Versa. She says, “It is such a blessing to have a reliable ‘new’ car to drive.”

What’s Up? Missionaries to the Deaf in Ukraine, Bob and Judy Van Sant, ask your prayers for Deaf Pastor Slava Kratko and his wife, Tanya (both deaf). Tanya was diagnosed with cancer and was admitted into an Oncology hospital for surgery on July 17. Their only child, Natasha (deaf), and granddaughter, whom they have not seen in two years have come to stay awhile. Pastor Slava and Tanya both have said they feel and know that people are praying for them, as they have peace and comfort.
